Four New Cranes are now available in Port of SavannahFour New Cranes are now available in Port of Savannah New Super Post-Panamax cranes were delivered to Garden City Terminal at the Port of Savannah on December, 5 which makes the port's total to 26, more than any other terminal in the US. Including the new arrived cranes, now Savannah owes 20 new Panamax and 6 Post-Panamax cranes. These new giant cranes can serve the largest vessels going through US East Coast. New Terminal in MoroccoNew Terminal in Morocco The terminal operator APM Terminals, which is based in Netherlands will construct a new first automated container terminal in Africa. That's going to be a huge project with 32 Automated Rail-Mounted Gantry Cranes (ARMGs) and 12 remote-controlled Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes. The terminal's territory is going to be 53 square hectares with the quay length up to 1200 m. According to Willemen Groep, the work should be done by September 1, 2018, and the port terminal will be able to meet first Mega Panamax container ships. 2016-12-05
Höegh LNG signs deal with Ghana GasHöegh LNG signs deal with Ghana Gas Höegh LNG has signed a contract with Quantum Power Ghana Gas Limited to provide a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) at the Tema LNG import terminal. According to Höegh, the 20 year-contract should generate an average annual EBITDA of around USD 36 million. The agreement is subject to governmental and board approvals, as well as financial close. The infrastructure construction is set to begin mid-2017, with the expected delivery time for the FSRU being between 6 and 12 months. Höegh LNG’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Sveinung J. S. Støhle, stated that Höegh LNG now has full contract coverage for its FSRU fleet. The Tema LNG Project is supported by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Ghana’s national oil and gas company. 2016-12-02

Korea Line Corp may share container terminal with HMMKorea Line Corp may share container terminal with HMM South Korea's shipping company Korea Line Corp proposed Hyundai Merchant Marine to buy a 54% stake of a container terminal in Long Beach, CA which used to belong to Hanjin shipping company. Previously, Korean shipping company has signed a US $ 31,4 billion agreement to purchase the Asia-US route network from Hanjin shipping. Korea line explained this deal as they would need their own terminal to avoid any competition problems in future operations. At the present time Korea line has 25 vessels which are carrying iron, oil, cars and so on. Besides that company owes 4 new buildings on order. |
