Maersk shipping line has begun co-operation with South Korean shipbuilding company Hyundai Heavy Industries which is worth USD 1.1 bln. The main aim is constructing of 9 container ships with a capacity of 14000 TEU per each one. This is going to be the 3rd shipbuilding project implemented by Maersk line. 9 new vessels will start sailing in 2017 under Singaporean flag. This will help to extend North-South  and East-West trades where requirements are different.

G6 shipping alliance added Halifax port to Asia Suez Express Service

As per G6, Halifax port was decided to be included to Asian shipping service, knows as Asia Suez Express Service.
It is expected that such change will reduce transit time from Canada to Asia and Mediterranean ports and back.
New port rotations are currently known as following:
Laem Chabang – Singapore – Colombo – Damietta – Cagliari – Halifax – New York – Savannah – Norfolk – Halifax (new) – Cagliari – Damietta – Jebel Ali – Singapore – Laem Chabang
First vessel will depart July, 6th from Halifax to Laem Chabang. As for Budapest Express - it is scheduled to arrive to Halifax August, 4th.
