Port Everglades reached December box record

Port Everglades reached December box record

Florida's port has announced a month record in December, 2016 with 104,590 TEUs shipped through the port. It is the biggest producing month for the past 90 years. Partly, this increase can be connected with the restoration of Costa Rica and Dominican republic markets. At the same time, new record was influenced by agreement between Crowley and Seaboard Marine, when shipping lines started to use Florida port for South America deliveries.

Port authorities say that TEU growth will continue due to the new Mediterranean Gulf Express (MGX) and  SeaLand’s and APL’s North American Express Services (NAE/ACX).
