The volumes raised by 5,7% comparing to 2016. As per DP Word, the first quarter had a strong start and all 3 regions made a good increase, mainly the terminals in Europe and the Americas. UAE port handled 3,7 million tons growing container volumes by 1,8% comparing to the previous year. Yang Ming is connecting Southeast Asia and AustraliaYang Ming is connecting Southeast Asia and Australia Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation, the Taiwanese shipping company, is going to provide a new service between Southeast Asia and Australia. The Asia Australia Alliance service will start operation this week in Thailand, Laem Chabang. The new service will expand Yang Ming’s port coverage in Australia to Fremantle and its rotation will be the following: Laem Chabang–Singapore–Port Klang–Fremantle–Sydney–Melbourne–Adelaide–Fremantle–Singapore–Laem Chabang. Epic Gas Buying LPG CarrierEpic Gas Buying LPG Carrier Singapore-based owner and operator of pressurized gas carriers Epic Gas will expand its fleet by puchasing a 7,500 cbm liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier. According to the company, the vessel was built in 2009 at the Japanese shipyard Murakami Hide Shipbuilding. The second-hand ship is scheduled to join Epic's fleet in June 2017. This will be the company's 42nd vessel. Their range is between 3,000 cbm and 11,000 cbm. They serve routes in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. 2017-04-20
Guatemala has welcomed its biggest incoming containershipGuatemala has welcomed its biggest incoming containership On April 12 Terminal de Contenedores Quetzal (TCQ) received 8,600 TEU CSAV Traiguen, so far its biggest boxship. Vessel's arrival is one of the first steps on Hapag-Lloyd’s Mediterranean Pacific (MPS) service. MPS will start weekly calls to Quetzal port. CSAV Traiguen, owned by UK shipping company Zodiac maritime, is of 300 m length and 48.4 m width. TCQ can accept ships of up to 9,000 TEUs and has the annual container throughput capacity of 340,000 TEU. Also, it is the largest facility in Guatemala, as well as the biggest location between the port of Lázaro Cardenas in México, and the Panama Canal. |
