​Jaxport Starting Asia Service​

The 2M Alliance has offered to expand services of ​Blount Island Marine Terminal for container shipping to Asian countries. It's going to be a part of new rotation between North America East Coast and Far East offered by Hamburg Süd line. 

​The containerships will be calling for the following ports: 
​Jacksonville - Busan - Qingdao - Xingang - Shanghai - Ningbo, connection will be done through Panama Canal.

ZIM and MSC Upgrading North Europe Service

Israeli Zim Integrated Shipping Services (ZIM) and Swiss Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) have upgraded their joint North Europe Express (NE1) service. 

The new schedule features a direct call at Limassol. ZIM stated that this update will improve transit time from Israel to North Europe.

The new port rotation is as follows: Felixtowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Limassol, Ashdod, Haifa, Ashdod, Valencia, Felixtowe.

ZIM also plans to enhance its Greece Turkey Service (TGX) with three 1,700 TEU vessels.

Best quarter for Long Beach port

The port of Long Beach in California has its best quarter since 2007 with 20 % growth in import container volumes. 

​Within ​first 3 months of 2017  the port managed 1,6 million tons of container cargo, which is 1,5% higher than the same period of 2015. In the begging of this year imports raised by  2,1% and export cargo by 0,4%. 

Last month dockers of Long Beach port unloaded over 250 thousands tons from vessels. As per the port authorities, the export has decrease this year by 5,3%  since all shipments abroad keeps facing challenges due to the strong dollar. 

​In March the port handled ​505,382 tons in total, which is 8,7% rise.
