Work Starts on New Terminal in MiamiWork Starts on New Terminal in Miami Royal Caribbean Cruises and PortMiami have broken ground for a new cruise terminal. The Miami-based cruise company said that the 'Crown of Miami'-nicknamed terminal will be able to accommodate its Oasis class, which are the largest cruise ships in the world. The opening is set for October 2018. According to Carlos Gimenez, Miami-Dade County Mayor, the 10 acre-facility "will make PortMiami Royal Caribbean’s largest cruise port in the U.S.” RCL stated that the terminal will be certified as a green building by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. Around 1.8 million passengers are expected annually. That would double RCL’s current passenger traffic in PortMiami. |
