Shell Breaking New GroundShell and Carnival performed France's first-ever ship-to to ship LNG bunkering. The operation was carried out in the port of Marseille Fos on the cruise ship Costa Smeralda. The bunkering was completed on May 4 through Anthony Veder’s converted LNG bunkering vessel Coral Methane. MAN Energy working on ammonia-powered shipsGerman engine builder MAN Energy Solutions is partnering with Japanese shipbuilder Imabari Shipbuilding on the development of a vessel powered by ammonia. The cooperation will serve as the basis for developing the vessel design including the ammonia storage tank, fuel supply system and a range of systems for the main engine. The project should help the shipping industry's major goal of reducing emissions. Hydrogen and ammonia are seen as potential zero-emission fuels of the future. |
