Jebel Ali port is going to raise it's capacity

It was recently reported, Jebel Ali port in Dubai ordered new equipment for its 4th terminal. It is going to be totally automatic and remote operation system, produced by ABB technology group.

The new DP World’s Terminal 4 will add 3.1 million TEU capacity in 3-year period.
It will be achieved by 13 STS (ship to shore) cranes and 35 ASC (automatic stacking cranes). All of them will be equipped with remote control and all operations will be implemented from the remote room outside the terminal quay.

By the end of 2018 Jebel Ali port is going to raise its capacity to 22.1 million TEU in total.

Next Generation Terminal is being developed in Canada, Sydney

China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) has joined to Canadian Harbor-Port Development Partners (HPDP) team for developing a new terminal in Nova Scotia. Moreover, Chinese partners will provide new equipment such as container cranes and gantries, as well as design  and engineering.

Project is going to take several years and few billion of investment.
The terminal is expected to operate with ultra large container vessels using its highly automated facility. Let us remind you, that HPDP was given an exclusive right to develop Sydney terminal, including building all related facilities of its logistic park.
