Chevrolet Camaro 1968

The 1st Gen Chevrolet Camaro came up in the dealership of Chevrolet in September in the year 1996 for the 1967 model year on one latest rear-wheel drive GM F body platform. It was available as a 2+ two seat, 2-door, and hardtop or convertible with a choice of V8 and 6- cylinder power plants. This car was built through the ’69 model year. The labeling and styling of the Chevrolet Camaro 1968 were similar to '67 design. With the debut of Astro ventilation, which is a fresh air inlet system, the side vents were removed. The side marker lights were an addition on the rear and the front fenders which were a requirement of the government for the ‘68 cars.

In 1968, Camaro proved itself to be an instant hit. It was proven to be worthy to Mustang with the sales number rising high and wins racking up on the racing track. The modifications made in the car between 1967 and 68 were subtle but quite thoughtful. For instance, the vent windows which frame the A pillars earlier were removed. Because there were no "smoker" windows anymore, Chevrolet had to come up with something to get the driver some airflow. GM installed the air vents below the dash, and this feature was named as ‘Astro-ventilation.'
