Chinese shipping company COSCO wants to use shortcut in Arctic Sea via Northeast Passage to increase number of sailing vessels between Asia and Europe. Transit through Northeast Passage can shorten transit time by 12-15 days comparing to the traditional route via Suez Canal, although this option is available only from July to November.
