With sights of four to eight ships off anchored off the coast waiting to berth, October has seen congestion at the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles (POLA-LB) to likes of which have not been seen since the last major labor dispute here in 2002. Analysts at the Marine Exchange of Southern California say while there are several reasons for the congestion, all the segments of transport operating in the harbor are being affected by the delayed wait times of 12 to 72 hours.
