ACL Extends Port of Liverpool Deal
U.S.-based Atlantic Container Line (ACL) has signed a 15-year contract extension with Peel Ports at the Port of Liverpool.
Part of the Grimaldi group, ACL is the largest ocean carrier operating at Liverpool’s Royal Seaforth Container Terminal (RSCT) and the port’s longest serving container carrier. The deal will run through 2035.

Peel Ports Group is investing in RSCT to accommodate ACL’s new fleet of G4 vessels, which are registered in the UK and need more access space. ACL is an important link in the UK export and import supply chain.

New Ferry For Stena Line
Stena Line has taken delivery of its newest ferry Stena Estrid. The ceremony took place at the AVIC Weihai Shipyard in China.
The ship should reach the Irish Sea in 6 weeks, where it will service the Dublin to Holyhead route.
Stena Estrid is the first of five next generation Stena Line RoPax vessels currently under construction.
According to CEO Niclas Mårtensson, “[This] is a major milestone for Stena Line. [It] reflects our commitment to the region and will ultimately see three of the world’s most modern ferries operating between Ireland and Britain.”
Stena Estrid can carry 120 cars and 1,000 passengers and crew.
