Zodiac Maritime Orders Five Ultra Large Ships

According to Fearnleys, London-based Zodiac Maritime has ordered five dual-fuel ready containerships with a capacity of 14,000 TEU each. 

South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) is reported to be the shipbuilder, but they have made no announcements yet. The vessels are expected to be delivered in 2019.

Zodiac Maritime has a fleet of 132 vessels, 15 of which are newbuildings.

HHI has received orders for over 30 ships in 2018 thanks to the shipping market recovery.

The ships feature 14,000 TEU in capacity and will be dual-fuel ready, the shipbroker said.

South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries is said to have secured the order,nevertheless, the builder is yet to officially confirm the deal. The newbuilding series is earmarked for delivery in 2019.

Zodiac Maritime has 132 vessels  including 15 newbuildings in its fleet.

Particularly, five containerships of 11,000 TEU are already being built by Hyundai and are scheduled  for delivery in 2019.

Hyundai Heavy Industries has made a big comeback to the shipbuilding scene having reaped the fruits of renewed interest from owners to order new ships. The company has received orders for over 30 ships since the start of the year.

Port of Gulfport and ​Yilport Holding have signed an agreement for further joint port expansion project. The agreement describes USD 570 million restoration process and investment into additional equipment and facility upgrades. Yilport Holding intends to develop this central port and then expand international trade lanes, Gufport is the first Yilport's terminal investment in USA.
