Wind Assist Project Launches

The Wind Assisted Ship Propulsion (WASP) project, part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), has been officially approved and launched.
The EUR 3.4 million project brings together universities, wind-assist technology providers and ship owners to research and improve wind propulsion solutions. The program will harvest the North Sea's abundant wind potential, thereby further greening the North Sea Region.
“Wind propulsion solutions are a very important technology segment for the decarbonisation of shipping. The propulsive energy provided is substantial and this is delivered directly to the ship with no need for new infrastructure,” Gavin Allwright, Secretary General of the International Windship Association, stated.

Scandlines Gedser-Rostock, Boeckmans Ship Management and Van Dam Shipping are partnering on the project, with additional partners expected to join soon.

REPO stands for the word “repossessed” and means a category of vehicles whose original buyers cancelled their purchases or failed to pay for them. Now those cars are being on re-sale and available for a cheaper price and minimum fees.

What is the difference between RoRo and Container consolidation?

“RORO” means that your vehicle will be driven under its own power  inside a special cargo ship. This method of shipment is available to various destinations and does not involve consolidation.

Container shipping is the most popular way to ship a vehicle. Basically, your car will be loaded inside 20 feet or 40 feet container, and the container will be sealed. If a car is loaded inside a 40 feet container, there is also space for at least 2 more regular-sized cars. It’s called container consolidation when 3 or 4 cars of different buyers are loaded inside one container and go towards the same shipping destination.

There are different options how you can buy a car with us: you can make a purchase at the fixed price (which is a Buy Now option), bid on a live auction yourself or request live on the phone bidding with the help of our sales representative, you may also order a car and our sales team will search a car for you.

In case you decide to take part in the auction, we suggest you to look through already sold similar cars statistics results.

When you open “Similar Vehicle Price Statistics Results” located under the “BID Information”, you will see the list of similar cars and the prices for which they were sold. With this information you will know the approximate amount for a winning bid.
