Smart Containers from NorwaySmart Containers from Norway According to classification society DNV GL, a group of Norwegian graduates have developed smart containers which are able to sail without any human interaction. By using SEAtrue (offshore distribution of aquaculture products) and TraceEat (best possible use of resources) technologies, the system transports seafood in autonomous “robot containers” which feature shelf life-extending cooling techniques. The self-propelled containers either position themselves for pick up by a vessel or sail directly to a port, thereby improving the efficiency of sea transportation. DNV GL stated that this approach “can revolutionize production and distribution of aquaculture products.” 2017-08-18
