Indonesia Can Boast a New Container Terminal

Due to the growing container cargo volume traffic in Indonesia, it was decided back in December 2014 to build a new terminal for container ships. The project was handled mainly by NYK shipping line.

The terminal is designed for operations with mega container ships, as it has 16 meters draft and the berth of 850 meters length. It's capacity was estimated as 1.5 million TEUs a year.

Now it became the part of the biggest port in the country and the start of a huge expansion project, including 7 new terminals by 2023.

World's Largest Heavy Ship

Have you ever imagined that there vessels that can carry other vessels? Huge containerships with thousands of cars on the board. Here is the largest heavy lift ship ever, it's open deck is 70x275 meters and capacity of 117 000 tons. For comparison, the next largest HTV (Heavy Marine Transport Vessel) has only 65 000 tons.
Such vessels are called "V-class" and Hyundai Heavy Industries already thinking of creating such second giant.
Such ships help a lot in moving damaged or sunken vessels or even the whole buildings, as well as bridge bearings.
