MSC changes its Asia-USWC/Canada Service

Beginning from the mid of December, Switzerland shipping company will update their service between Asia and US West Coast/Canada. New Orient service will be renamed to Orient and will be connecting ports of Singapore, Shanghai, Long Beach, Busan, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Chiwan, Yantian and Vung Tau. Another service - New Eagle - will be linking Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Busan, Yantian, Shanghai, Vancouver, Seattle, Yokohama and Kaohsiung as Eagle service. At the same time, Jaguar and Pearl services, which belong to MSC, will remain with no changes.

Shipping giant has announced new rotations and upgrades for some of the services.  ​Thereby WAZZAN route connecting West Africa and Morocco. First vessel will depart from Casablanca on the 8th of November and then 3 vessels will continue operation on weekly basis reaching Dakar on the 5th day after departure from Morocco. The updated route for containerships saves 6 days of transit, ports of calls are as follows:

Algeciras, Tangiers, Casablanca, Las Palmas, Dakar, Nouakchott, Nouadhibou, Algeciras.

​Also, the French shipping company revealed plans for temporary changes for the  Asia - ​East Mediterranean ​route for the winter period.​

​PHOEX and BEX will merge starting October 30th with the following schedule:

Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Port Kelang, Koper, Trieste, Izmit, Avcilar, Constanza, Odessa, Avcilar, Piraeus, Port Kelang, Pusan

Cargo volumes raise at Belgium’s port of Antwerp

The Antwerp port recorded cargo volume increase at 3,3 % during this year, handling 161,6 million TEUs of the freight.
The container volume during the first nine months of 2016 was more than 7,5 million TEUs, which is 4% more than in the previous three quarters of 2015. However RoRo volumes got down by 1,9 %  with 3,3 million during  this year.

According to the Port Authorities the number of ships raised by 1%, what is 10,900  by October 1, 2016.

Asia - Australia New Service

Asia-based shipping companies joined to create the North East Asia – Australia Express (NEAX) route service. It was an initiative of 5 shipping giants such as Evergreen Line, K Line, MOL, OOCL and YML.
The first vessel will depart from Yokohama October 23 and the service will be implemented weekly by 6 containerships, in average 3,600 TEUs capacity each.
NEAX rotation will be as following:

Yokohama, Osaka, Pusan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and then back to Yokohama
