2002 Gem E825

The 2002 Gem E825 is the real electric car that is an official Low Speed vehicle and is also dubbed as the NEV or your Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. It is limited to the top speed of 25mph and is perfect to take around the neighborhood with ease. Like it is mandatory for all other LSV, 2002 Gem 825 also has some safety features like headlights and taillights, turn signals, stop lights, mirrors, side reflectors, seatbelts, safety glass windshield etc. They however do not need to have airbags as they are exempted from crash tests.

Manufactured by GE Motor Cars, the 2002 Gem E825, looks a lot like the Lexus Golf cart, small in size and no doors. However, while the Lexus Golf can touch the top speed of 12-15mph, the Gem E825 can go up to 26mph. The look is very similar to the golf cart though.

The 2002 Gem E825 comes with a 3.5hp GE DC motor, 6 Trojan 12V XH30 lead-acid batteries. 2 of these batteries are over the front wheel and 4 are placed under the seat, and they feed 72V to the engine through a GE solid state controller.

You cannot compare the 2002 Gem E825 to a real car and will not serve the purpose of an actual transportation, but it does serve a very niche segment. The target audience could be retires who live in big golf estates who would like to use it within the campus area to commute from one place to the other.

If you have been looking for such a car, then the 2002 Gem 825 is a very decent car. To get a good deal on a used Gem E825, you can try AuctionExport.com. Simply register in this online car auction site and start bidding for the car of your choice.
